Papers collected by Mrs. Max Mayer, USFA Iowa field representative and Ivan L. Pollock, research associate at the State Historical Society of Iowa. Includes correspondence from the Iowa Division administrator, J.F. Deems of Burlington; and secretary of the Iowa division, R.E. Logsdon. Contains many form letters sent to USFA county chairs, businesses, housewives, and schools; as well as correspondence to the Iowa division by officials and private citizens. Also includes programs, notes, printed material and Pollock's notes for his two volume book "The Food Administration in Iowa" published by the State Historical Society of Iowa.

The United States Food Administration Iowa Division was established in July 1917 with the appointment of J.F. Deems as state administrator by Hebert Hoover, the head of the USFA.
